Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Data Engineering Lead to join the Data Platform team, focusing on building advanced data capabilities. This role involves designing, developing, and implementing enterprise-scale data lakes and data pipelines in a cutting-edge cloud environment using AWS, Kafka, Spark/Scala, EMR, and EKS.
The ideal candidate is a technical leader with a strong hands-on background in data engineering, capable of driving team efforts while interfacing with stakeholders to gather requirements and design solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of data lakes and data pipelines using AWS and related tools.
- Manage and guide an Agile team of 8-10 highly technical developers.
- Effectively communicate with stakeholders, prioritize tasks, and drive the team’s development efforts.
- Collaborate with customers to gather requirements and provide robust solutions.
- Provide Level 3/4 support for escalations on an occasional basis (after-hours work is compensated as part of regular hours).
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum 10+ years overall experience, with a strong track record of leading technical teams.
- Hands-on expertise in data engineering and building data pipelines in AWS environments.
- Expertise with tools such as EMR, EKS, Spark, and Scala.
- Knowledge of automation scripting (Python preferred).
- Familiarity with security best practices is a plus.
- Background in the finance industry is advantageous.
